Synopsis
- This chapter of the Our Climate Our Future series will provide you with tools to teach your students about taking climate action and doing one thing (DOT) to make a positive difference.
- In the accompanying lesson plan and worksheet, students will create a mural of actions to raise awareness about climate change and write a letter to a local newspaper to raise an issue.

- However, having students write their commitments can help ensure follow-through.
Additional Prerequisites
- Teachers must make a free account to access the materials.
- If the teacher is uncomfortable with students texting their actions to ACE, the teacher can skip this at 2:00 of the video.
Differentiation
- Consider sharing the closed captioning text before or during the video for students with learning differences.
- Have more advanced students research climate solutions to see how much of an impact each solution can make, then come up with an action plan for prioritizing the most effective solutions.
- This video and lesson could be connected to lessons about the responsibilities of nations, industries, and individuals to support the common good.
- Have students expand on their art project by creating digital artwork that can be shared with a broader audience.
There is no contradiction in the resource. Actions such as #LessMeat, #GetSocial, and others would drive everyone into a more sustainable future and our efforts to achieving the net zero target in 2050. This resource is recommended for teaching.
