Art Works for Change is a nonprofit organization that creates contemporary art exhibitions and storytelling projects to address critical social and environmental issues.

The ASU College of Global Futures is committed to creating and providing curricular resources that span a diverse range of topics--including food systems, sustainability, quality of life and well-being, decision-making for sustainability, and much more. BioInteractive brings the power of real science stories into tens of thousands of high school and undergraduate life science classrooms.

Bow Seat Ocean Awareness Programs is a global nonprofit working at the intersection of environmental science and the arts. Bow Seat hosts the annual Ocean Awareness Contest, inviting students worldwide to create art, writing, film, and other creative media to learn about and speak up against the climate crisis. Since 2011, Bow Seat has engaged with nearly 30,000 students in all 50 U.S. states and 138 countries.

C3 Teachers aims to empower teachers as they wrestle with the big ideas and instructional implications of the C3 Framework. Teachers play a critical role in helping students learn academic content using the C3 Inquiry Arc, which outlines the social studies habits of mind, disciplinary tools, and conceptual content that students need to become ready for college and career, and most importantly, civic life.  As social studies students map their own disciplinary inquiries, C3 Teachers embark on a pedagogical investigation examining and experimenting with their own practice as they support students’ questions, learn, apply, analyze, collaborate, express, and act in authentic social studies experiences. The Captain Polo Climate Academy was founded in June 2022 by Alan J. Hesse, a conservation biologist, author-illustrator and climate educator. The Academy leverages the cartoon polar bear character "Captain Polo," hero of Alan’s ongoing series of educational children’s books about climate change. Through the application of creative, actionable content and practical projects the Captain Polo Climate Academy aims to support teachers and empower children as agents of positive change for climate action and sustainability, both as future decision-makers and as current key influencers of their parents and other adults.

The Center for Ecoliteracy advances the teaching and modeling of sustainable practices in K–12 schools. The organization builds partnerships and the capacity of K–12 schools to support healthy, sustainable school communities and food systems change in schools. The Center for Ecoliteracy leads systems change initiatives, publishes original books and resources, facilitates conferences and professional development, and provides strategic consulting. The organization works at multiple levels of scale, with local, regional, state, and national programs.

CFR Education provides accurate, accessible, authoritative resources that build the knowledge, skills, and perspective high school and higher education students need to understand and engage with today’s most pressing global issues.

The Children's Environmental Literacy Foundation (CELF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2003 with the mission to make Education for Sustainability (EfS) an integral part of every child's K-12 learning experience. CELF engages educators, students and community leaders through award-winning programs that are designed to succeed in a wide range of education settings, including multi-day Summer Institutes, school professional development workshops, custom curriculum and instruction consulting, green career speaker series, and outdoor learning experiences. Citizens' Climate Education (CCE) is a nonpartisan grassroots advocacy organization that empowers individuals to educate key stakeholders, policymakers, and the general public about effective solutions to climate change. By training and mobilizing a powerful coalition of climate advocates, CCE builds political will for long-lasting climate solutions.

The CLEAN Network is a professionally diverse community of over 630 members committed to improving climate and energy literacy locally, regionally, nationally, and globally in order to enable responsible decisions and actions. The CLEAN Network has been a dynamic group since 2008 and is now led by the CLEAN Leadership Board established in 2016. 

Climate Central is an independent group of scientists and communicators who research and report the facts about our changing climate and how it affects people’s lives.

While most people have heard of global warming, few understand environmental feedback loops, which are amplifying and accelerating the process. In Climate Emergency: Feedback Loops, a series of five short films ranging from 8-14 minutes, 12 climate scientists explain how warming caused by human activity is setting in motion Earth’s own natural mechanisms, releasing additional greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and further heating up the planet. Out of dozens of environmental feedback loops, Climate Emergency: Feedback Loops focuses on four areas, explaining how warming in forests, permafrost, the atmosphere, and the poles work together to accelerate warming cycles.

Climate Generation is a nationally connected nonprofit dedicated to climate literacy, climate change education, youth leadership, and community engagement for innovative climate change solutions. Climate Generation empowers individuals and their communities to engage in solutions to climate change. Their vision is a world of resilient communities with equitable solutions to climate change.

The Climate Initiative is a nonpartisan, science-based climate change organization based in Kennebunkport, Maine whose mission is to empower youth voices for climate action. Through national education and empowerment initiatives, youth are learning about climate solutions and becoming agents of change in their communities and beyond. Climate Interactive is a non-profit think tank partnered with the MIT Sloan Sustainability Initiative that creates tools and resources to help people explore connections, play out scenarios, and see what works to address climate change, inequity, and related issues like energy, health, and food. Climate Mental Health Network urgently addresses the mental health impacts of the climate crisis through education, community engagement and by harnessing the power of media and technology.

Climate Outreach helps people understand the complex issue of climate change in ways that resonate with their sense of identity, values, and worldview. They aim to create informed consent and support from people across society and around the world, in order to create a social mandate for climate action.

We educate the profession and the public about the urgent risks of the climate crisis, including its profound impacts on mental health and well-being. As a grassroots collaboration of psychiatrists and other mental health professionals, we aim to nimbly and creatively advocate for change—educating and motivating others to act to protect health and build a sustainable world. We are creating a forum to bring psychiatrists and other mental health professionals together to form a collective voice.

Climate Reality Project seeks to catalyze a global solution to the climate crisis by making urgent action a necessity across every sector of society. They recruit, train, and mobilize people to become powerful activists, providing the skills, campaigns, and resources to push for aggressive climate action and high-level policies that accelerate a just transition to clean energy.

ClimateScience inspires young talents to seek careers in fields where they contribute to climate solutions. By providing beautifully illustrated, understandable, science-based educational content for free for everyone, they are building the fundamentals for Climate Education.

The Cloud Institute prepares school systems and their communities to educate for a sustainable future through meaningful content and learner-centered instruction. We are committed to the roles that teaching, learning, and thinking play in contributing to the shift toward a sustainable future. Our work with schools revolves around professional learning, curriculum, instruction, and assessment aspects of Education for Sustainability (EfS). We also provide the strategic planning and leadership development support required for lasting school change.

To that end, their mission is to build a global youth movement to protect and restore our ocean planet. Their Academy is a new virtual learning space developed to provide online courses for teacher professional learning with access to fully remote, asynchronous environmental education modules for students.

ecoAmerica moves society toward climate solutions by inspiring and empowering trusted national institutions and their millions of stakeholders in local communities across America to visibly act and advocate. Our mission is built upon our commitment to Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.

EcoRise mobilizes a new generation of leaders to design healthy, just, and thriving communities for all. By teaching sustainability, design, and social entrepreneurship, their programs inspire youth to tackle real-world challenges in their schools and communities. EcoRise provides a leading-edge curriculum to over 5,000 K-12 educators around the world. In addition, they offer robust teacher professional development, a Student Innovation Fund to bring green ideas to life, and youth-facing programs such as youth climate councils and paid summer internships to foster the next generation of green professionals and leaders.

For over 25 years, Global Nomads Group has leveraged technology to host digital safe spaces for young people around the world to share their stories, challenge assumptions, engage with and learn from each other, and, by doing so, foster a more just world.

The Global Oneness Project is a free multimedia platform offering multicultural stories and accompanying lesson plans as pedagogical tools to inspire growing minds. Their award-winning collection of films, photo essays, and articles explores cultural, social, and environmental issues from around the world with a humanistic lens. Aligned to National and Common Core Standards, their curriculum content contains an interdisciplinary approach to learning and facilitates the development of critical thinking, inquiry, and empathy.

Green Ninja grew out of academic research at San Jose State University that demonstrated how well-designed educational experiences can promote pro-environmental attitudes and behavior in youth. This research is the foundation for the Green Ninja middle school science curriculum that has been adopted by the California Department of Education as an approved NGSS science provider. Today, Green Ninja is the only commercial science publisher in the U.S. that uses local climate and environmental problems as a lens for teaching science. Green Ninja is a California Benefit Corporation with the goal of creating a cleaner and healthier planet for everyone.

The GSA harnesses the collective knowledge and expertise of its school-based members (students, faculty, staff, principals and others) to develop programs that enable school communities to 'lead the transition to an equitable, sustainable and climate-resilient future'.

Green Schools National Network (GSNN) leads a growing network of school districts to embed health, equity, and sustainability from the classroom to the board room. GSNN helps them create, approve, manage, and monitor five year Sustainability Plans that transform the facilities & operations, leadership, curriculum & instruction, and culture & climate of every school. These plans drive impacts such as the reduction of carbon, energy, water, and waste in schools; climate education in every K-12 classroom; and local sustainability initiatives launched by students, staff, and the community. GSNN also brings districts together throughout the year to build capacity, develop leadership, and influence the sustainability in education movement.

Green Schoolyards America partners with school districts and public agencies across the U.S. to establish large-scale living schoolyard programs that transform school grounds into ecologically-rich, park-like green spaces. Our goal is to improve children’s health, learning, and happiness while contributing to communities’ ecological and climate resilience. 

We are working to change the paradigm for school ground design, use, and management so all children will have access to the natural world in the places they already visit on a daily basis. We center equity in our work and collaborate with communities that have the greatest need for educational, environmental, health, and open space improvements.

High Resolves is a recognized leader in the design and delivery of citizenship and leadership learning experiences. Their vision is a generation of young people resolving to make a positive difference in the world. Since High Resolves' inception in 2005, their award-winning program has engaged over 200,000 high school students in Australia and is growing fast on a fully self-funding basis. They have expanded to the United States thanks to the generous support of Omidyar Network and the Einhorn Family Charitable Trust and have begun further expansion into China and Canada, with new partnerships also forming in Brazil and Africa. One person acting alone may not be able to transform a society or combat global trends, but they believe that if a critical mass of individuals aligns their everyday actions with the long-term collective interest of society, a tipping point will be reached where we will create a more inclusive, just and optimistic world.

Jill Pelto is an artist and scientist whose work focuses on communicating human-environment connections. She incorporates scientific research and data directly into her watercolor paintings — from local trends to global changes. Jill’s artwork was featured on the cover of TIME Magazine in July 2020 and has inspired online features in Smithsonian and PBS News Hour. Jill has created a science-art activity based on this idea and has worked with K-12 students across the U.S. and beyond. By pairing graphical information with visual imagery, Jill hopes students can learn about and connect to climate change topics (good, bad, and in-between) in ways that educate and are emotionally relevant. This data-art activity is flexible and allows students to make their own graph art to share topics they care about. 

The Daily Juice improves reading comprehension, vocabulary, quantitative reasoning, and critical thinking by incorporating standards-based assessments into the most engaging news stories of the day.

The Kid Should See This is a Webby award-winning collection of over 5,000 kid-friendly videos, curated for teachers and parents who want to share smarter, more meaningful media in the classroom and at home. Selections are grown-up-friendly, too. And thanks to TKSST members, it’s free and ad-free for everyone. Start conversations, spark questions, and inspire offline exploration for all ages.

The King's Centre for Visualization in Science is a research center committed to improving the global public understanding of science through research and the creation and dissemination of peer-reviewed interactive electronic learning tools to see and understand science.

Harvard University’s LabXchange is a free online platform for science education, created with support from the Amgen Foundation. It makes learning science online flexible and fun, with interactives, lab simulations, and more. 

Learning for a Sustainable Future is a Canadian charity founded in 1991 to integrate sustainability education into Canada’s K-12 school system. Learning for a Sustainable Future focuses on 4 priority areas including: Advancing Education Policy through research and knowledge mobilization; Supporting Educators through delivery of teacher workshops and provision of classroom resources; Youth Engagement through climate action youth leadership forums and climate action project funding; and Celebrating Bright Spots of Innovation through educator and youth awards and the Sustainable Future Schools whole school initiative.

Since 2001, MIT OpenCourseWare has been creating new opportunities for millions of learners and educators, sharing Open Educational Resources (OER) from MIT and helping to lead a global revolution in free access to knowledge.

NASA offers petabytes of global Earth science data collected from satellites, but accessing these data in a traditional (or virtual) science classroom can be tricky. Since 2004, My NASA Data has supported students and teachers of grades 3-12 in analyzing and interpreting NASA mission data.

NCSE works with teachers, parents, scientists, and concerned citizens at the local, state, and national levels to ensure that topics like climate change, evolution, and the nature of science are taught accurately, honestly, and confidently.

New Jersey Agriculture in the Classroom (NJAITC) is a state affiliate for the National Agriculture in the Classroom organization. The mission of the organization is to “increase agricultural literacy through K-12 education." An agriculturally literate person is defined as "one who understands and can communicate the source and value of agriculture as it affects our quality of life." Agriculture in the Classroom programs seek to improve student achievement by applying authentic, agricultural-based content as the context to teach core curriculum concepts in science, social studies, language arts and nutrition.

Dedicated to improving and protecting public health and the environment, NJDEP uses the best available science to guide the conservation of natural and historic resources, ensure a stable climate and resilient communities, and secure clean and healthy air, water and lands throughout New Jersey. A main priority for NJDEP is to reduce and respond to climate change; hence the commitment to support educators implementing NJ Climate Change Learning Standards in all subject areas, at all grade levels.

NYC Parks’ vision is to equitably strengthen our city’s health, environment, and communities through our parks. Paleontological Research Institution (PRI) is a national leader in Earth systems science education. PangeaSeed Foundation is a globally engaged nonprofit organization acting at the intersection of culture and environmentalism to further the conservation of our oceans. Its mission is to empower individuals and communities to create meaningful environmental change for the oceans by raising public awareness of critical environmental issues through SCIENCE, EDUCATION, and ARTIVISM (S.E.A.). Through their groundbreaking Sea Walls: Artists for Oceans public art program, PangeaSeed Foundation has created over 400 educational ocean advocacy murals in 17 countries, bringing the ocean into streets across the globe.

PhET Interactive Simulations at the University of Colorado Boulder creates free interactive math and science simulations. PhET sims are based on extensive education research and engage students through an intuitive, game-like environment where students learn through exploration and discovery.

The Planet Classroom Network brings together musicians, dancers, video game creators, filmmakers, learning innovators, and emerging technologists from all over the world to entertain, educate and engage youth, and provide a rich cultural experience. The Planet Classroom Network is by youth for youth. Young people from around the world played a significant role in conceptualizing, creating, and producing the network’s vision and programming. Key focus areas have been climate change, mental health, and youth leadership. 

Polar Bears International is the only conservation organization solely dedicated to protecting wild polar bears. Through science, advocacy, media, and education, we work to ensure the polar bear’s long-term survival. Together, we can make sure that polar bears roam the sea ice for generations to come and improve conditions for people, too.

Population Education provides K-12 teachers with innovative, hands-on lesson plans and professional development to teach about human population growth and its effects on the environment and human well-being. Human population has grown from 1 billion to 8 billion in just over 200 years, so it is critical to examine human impacts on wildlife, climate, and natural resources while working toward equality and justice for the world’s people. Through memorable, standards-aligned classroom activities like simulations, cooperative challenges, and debate, Population Education inspires students to tackle a variety of real-world problems and to become positively engaged in their communities as the next generation of leaders and policy makers.

Probable Futures offers useful tools and maps to visualize climate change along with stories and insights to help people understand what those changes mean.

Project Drawdown is a nonprofit organization that seeks to help the world reach “drawdown”—the future point in time when levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere stop climbing and start to steadily decline. Cities, universities, corporations, philanthropies, policymakers, communities, educators, activists, and more turn to Project Drawdown as they look to advance effective climate action. Project Drawdown resources for educators include the database of Drawdown Solutions, educational video series Climate Solutions 101, the Drawdown Stories initiative, and more. 

Project Look Sharp is a nonprofit, mission-driven outreach program of Ithaca College. Their mission is to help K-16 educators enhance students' critical thinking, metacognition, and civic engagement through media literacy materials and professional development.

Renewable English was created to help educators and learners in their quest to be more sustainable. In the first series of lessons, they look closely at traditional unit themes and look more deeply into our behavior, and see how we can easily make positive changes towards a cleaner, healthier planet. In the second series, they'll be looking at how to incorporate the UN's Sustainable Development Goals into classes. They also provide workshops for students and teachers to help them raise their eco-literacy and bring sustainability to the forefront of their lessons.

The American Federation of Teachers’ Share My Lesson is a free, award-winning community-based site that brings together educators, parents and caregivers, paraprofessionals and school-related personnel, specialized instructional support personnel, union and nonunion members, educational partners, and higher education professionals who have the common goal of finding and sharing the best educational resources available. Share My Lesson was created by the AFT and TES Global in 2012. From the beginning, we have been committed to providing our community of members high-quality and effective lesson plans and professional development resources—all for free. 

Today, Share My Lesson remains a trusted resource for high-quality education materials, many of which are designed to support educators implementing standards. As of 2023, Share My Lesson has 2.1 million members and more than 420,000 resources (geared to toddlers through higher education), which have been downloaded more than 16 million times.

Stay Grounded is a people-powered, science-based, and action-oriented network for more than 180 member initiatives around the world. The network fosters mutual support and exchange of experiences, and campaigns for a reduction of aviation and its negative impacts, as well as against problematic climate strategies like offsetting emissions and biofuels. It develops materials and background information on multiple topics around the climate impact and injustice of aviation.

Take Action Global (TAG) is a leading education non-profit 501(c)3 organization committed to climate education for all and equitable educational learning opportunities for global educators and PreK-grade 12 students. Over five years, TAG has served over 4.4 million students and educators from 157 countries through online learning programs and has supported over 2 million tree plantings. The website contains the Water Footprint Calculator tool, high school and middle school lesson plans, in-depth information pages, water-saving tips, reports and more. This educational content helps students recognize that consumption of food, energy and consumer goods has a greater impact on their water consumption than they might realize.

We the Children is a podcast for kids by kids to learn about the climate crisis and the environment while having fun. Episodes explore topics like climate change, severe weather, and sustainable living through conversations with experts, educators, and climate activists. Kids have a lot to contribute to the global conversation about the environment. The host, Zach, asks big, important questions to those dedicated to climate action and sustainability. We The Children aims to shape a thriving Earth for generations to come.
