Dr. Robert V. Steiner is an independent consultant in online and science education, with a particular focus on climate change. He formerly directed online education at the American Museum of Natural History, where he led the development of new online courses for teachers and oversaw partnerships that reached more than 25,000 teachers worldwide, with hundreds of thousands of additional learners through MOOCs offered on Coursera. Earlier, he led the development of Columbia Teachers College’s first graduate online courses and taught there. Dr. Steiner serves as adjunct faculty in the Department of Physics at CUNY’s Queens College and has published widely on science education and educational technology.
