Following the HB 4895 bill passed by Illinois Gov. Pritzker in Aug. 2024, which requires public schools to teach climate change, the Illinois Climate Education Hub was officially launched last month to provide Illinois teachers with free teaching materials and lesson plans related to climate change.

In Illinois, a new law requires public K-12 schools to teach about climate change including its impacts and solutions beginning in next fall. 

SubjectToClimate has developed a new resource hub designed to support Illinois educators in integrating climate education across all grade levels and subjects.

Connecting the Dots: The Environment’s Impact on Student Success is a policy memo from Tennessee SCORE that explores how environmental challenges such as extreme weather and climate change affect student well-being and academic outcomes. The memo highlights the critical role of schools in addressing these issues through infrastructure improvements, nature-based learning, and climate education.
