Accompanying Teaching Materials
Teaching Tips
  • Preread the story and note points for questioning. Use these ideas or your own. Pages are not numbered, so note the sentencer to find the correct page.

  • Mark pages with post-its to stop and discuss, or keep this guide near you when reading.

  • Questions and sentence starters are provided in the Teacher Slideshow. Feel free to change, add, or delete questions in the slides to best fit your needs. Sentence frames are organized into three language proficiency levels: Basic, Target, and Challenge. Students can choose the level that is right for them when responding.
Scientist Notes

Through this activity, students can learn about important meteorological factors that may affect the availability of water. They will also learn about strategies for conserving water under a changing climate scenario. After a thorough review of the materials, this activity guide has passed our science review.
