Geography classes can use this resource to compare and contrast temperature data for various locations and then add the graphs to a map of the United States to see if there are any geographical trends they can see. Is one area of the country warming faster than others during this time of year?
This resource would be a great tool for students to explore after learning about average temperatures. Younger students can read the graph for a location near them together as a class, while older students can be assigned different locations to compare and contrast.
To extend learning, have students use the data presented in the graph to predict the days above normal in the next several falls.
