Students will learn the history of Earth Day from 1970 - 2020, with events displayed chronologically for ease of understanding.
This easy-to-use Prezi presents information logically and chronologically and includes various categories about the environment.
Each entry includes a photograph for greater comprehension.
Additional Prerequisites
Students and teachers will need internet access.
Teachers can share the Prezi via social media or upload it to Google Classroom.
Some events include extreme, deadly weather phenomena and human-caused disasters, so teachers should prepare to answer questions and support students' emotions.
Differentiation
There are dozens of descriptions, each with its own cited source, so teachers can assign every student an entry as a research project.
Some entries are about environmental legislation through the years, so social studies teachers can have students work together to gather those facts and then create a class project highlighting how governments attempt to provide climate solutions.
Civics teachers may wish to discuss the concept of "Earth Day" in relation to community service and civic responsibility.
Teachers can easily differentiate based on reading stamina by strategically assigning events.
