Joanna Walker, Ph.D. is a geologist with extensive experience supporting carbon sequestration projects, with a focus on Class VI permitting, subsurface characterization, and regulatory compliance. She has contributed to multiple geologic storage projects across the U.S., providing expertise in pressure front modeling, Area of Review (AoR) delineation, wellbore integrity evaluations, and EPA-compliant monitoring strategies. Joanna’s background includes formation evaluation roles in both conventional and unconventional reservoirs, and her work bridges technical analysis with practical regulatory implementation for geologic CO₂ storage. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Houston and provides consulting expertise on UIC permitting, monitoring plans, and risk evaluations, while also contributing to academia. Joanna is frequently invited to speak on panels addressing regulations, permitting, and carbon storage.
