Wildlife Mascots

Synopsis
This guide shows how schools can use a wildlife mascot, or a similar local native species, as a tool for student-led learning and action around wildlife, habitat, and environmental stewardship.
Students can create a schoolyard habitat, clean up litter, share mascot fun facts during morning announcements, design school T-shirts, and brainstorm everyday actions to protect local wildlife.
This guide also profiles popular mascots, including the bald eagle, mountain lion, grizzly bear, gray wolf, and great white shark, with fun facts and leadership traits for each.
