This resource from Maine Climate Action Now! compiles information for Maine students to learn about climate change, the state's plan to combat it, and what they can do to help.
The resource includes student profiles, worksheets, a newsletter, and information about events students can participate in.
This resource will empower and inspire students to use their unique abilities to affect change.
The profiles of other young people making a difference demonstrate the variety of ways everyone can make a difference.
Prerequisites
Students should understand the causes and effects of climate change.
Differentiation & Implementation
Students can practice summarization skills by each selecting a Climate&Me profile to read and identify key details to share with the class.
After reading about what other students have done in the face of climate change, students can brainstorm ideas that are applicable to their school or community.
Students can check out the artwork submissions to get inspiration for their own climate change-inspired art.
The ClimateVenn can help students figure out how they can use their strengths and passions to do their part. Alternatively, or in combination, students can use the Climate&Me Survey to get more inspiration for how they can contribute.
