Synopsis
In this card game from the National Informal Stem Education Network, students will determine which community member may be the best person to help contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals.
This Games for the Future set also includes two other games, Seeing Sustainability and Silly Sustainability Stories.
This game is similar to other games students may have played, making it easy for them to learn how this game is played.
The time spent playing is dependent on the rounds played, so this game is adaptable to any schedule.
Prerequisites
To access this specific game from the page, teachers will need to scroll down and click the links for the Cards for Humanity Facilitator Guide and the Cards for Humanity SDG Cards.
Teachers will need to print and cut the cards ahead of time. Teachers may want to laminate the cards to use them again in the future.
If teachers will be having students play in small groups without teacher help, they will need to model gameplay for students.
Differentiation & Implementation
As the directions advise, this game can be played by anyone who can hold their cards out in a fan. Teachers with very young students can play this game utilizing big buddies or reading buddies from older grades.
Teachers can use this game to close out a unit or lesson discussing the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. This curriculum guide can help teachers of all grades find resources to incorporate into a unit.
This game can only be played with a maximum of 8 players. Teachers can have this game as an option for early finishers or add it to a station rotation.
