The 2024 Green Schools Conference (GSC), put on by the U.S. Green Building Council’s Center for Green Schools and the Green Schools National Network, will be held in LEED Gold City of Santa Fe, New Mexico from March 5-7. GSC brings together everyone involved in creating and advocating green initiatives for sustainable schools, focusing on those leading their schools and school systems toward whole-school sustainability. Now in its 14th year, the three-day event provides a platform for the green schools community that inspires and facilitates the progress of the green schools movement. SubjectToClimate is thrilled to be a promotional partner for the 2024 GSC, where we will be leading an in-person summit on interdisciplinary content for climate literacy.
Each year, the green schools conference includes a variety of education sessions that offer a deep dive into the most pressing green school topics within the areas of environmental impact, health and wellness, environmental and sustainability education, and whole- school sustainability.
During our summit, SubjectToClimate will facilitate a panel discussion, encouraging participants to explore specific opportunities and solutions for enhancing climate literacy within their school or district by leveraging the shared knowledge and resources we will present based on our expertise and work with different states. SubjectToClimate COO Margaret Wang maintains that “by including climate literacy as a key summit topic, GSC is sending a message that addressing curriculum and instruction is a key component to whole-school sustainability.”
