Synopsis
- This interactive student-facing resource is presented in three parts, each comprised of different resource links and activities to learn about sea level rise.
- Students can take part in a learning journey by way of a virtual classroom, an interactive learning mission activity, and a simple graphic with links where students will watch videos, read articles, and explore interactive maps, to understand the causes and implications of sea level rise.
- The learning lab pairs with this Learning Lab document, providing six lessons that can be used with this resource.

Additional Prerequisites
- Show students how to turn on the interactive features button on the top-right corner, to make it easier for them to see where to click.
- Students should be familiar with the 2015 Paris Agreement.
- The "Character Strong" link in the virtual classroom is broken.
- In the second presentation, videos may be challenging for younger students to click correctly. For the videos to play, you must hover over the image without clicking on the image, then click the red "play" button.
Differentiation
- The collection of data visualizations could inspire a discussion about the importance of art and visualization in the fight against climate change.
- Each student can pick a coastal city and write a report about the effects that city faces due to sea level rise.
- If showing text-heavy videos without narration to younger students, it may be beneficial to read the text out loud or slow the video playback speed.
- If you are having students do the learning labs independently or in small groups, having guided notes or a worksheet to complete as they go will ensure they explore all that is necessary and retain the most pertinent information.
This resource is an interactive website where students can learn all about sea level rise and how it is related to climate change. The interactive website has an abundance of resources for students to learn more information. Some of these resources are technical and may be difficult for some to comprehend, whereas other resources are appropriate for all ages. Below the classroom there is an interactive activity that steps students through 6 different "missions" where students learn about sea level rise in locations around the U.S. The amount of resources could be overwhelming to some, however this is a great page for students to get information about sea level rise. All resources have been assessed. The information presented is accurate and this resource is recommended for teaching.
