Prerequisites
Students should understand climate change and how to analyze maps and graphs.
Differentiation & Implementation
After analyzing this climate opinion map, students can compare it to information from Ireland, Canada, and the United States. Students can discuss differences and similarities and how geography and political climate may influence public perception.
Students can recreate this map for their school by asking students and teachers of various homerooms the questions provided, creating a color-coded map for one of the questions. Each student can be responsible for asking the questions to a different group. Students can then compile data as a class. After that, each student can be responsible for creating a color-coded map for one of the questions. Students can then compare their data to that of this opinion map.
Using this resource, students can look at the responses to the question about renewable energy and analyze them in conjunction with the data for energy consumption by source in the UK.
