Synopsis
In this lesson, students will learn about the relationship between climate change, agriculture, and hunger.
Students will learn about the causes and impacts of climate change, the recent upward trend of those experiencing hunger, and actions they can take to reduce climate change and, ultimately, hunger.
This lesson includes a video that gives a brief introduction to climate change and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The lesson and related materials include bright, engaging graphics and characters that students will love.
Prerequisites
Students may need to understand the difference between weather and climate before completing this lesson.
Differentiation & Implementation
After watching the videos, students can reflect on the suggestions for what individuals can do to help. Students can select one strategy to implement and report back to the class.
Students may benefit from being able to take notes during the lesson and videos to refer back to when they write about what they learned.
Teachers can use the list of terms across the top of the included worksheet for vocabulary-building activities and to introduce terms to students prior to beginning the lesson.
