Students will love the cute and engaging animations throughout the video.
The video includes helpful graphics to help students grasp concepts.
Prerequisites
Students should understand food chains and food webs.
Differentiation & Implementation
For a hands-on project, students can choose their favorite animal and create a shoebox diorama of their habitat.
To make connections to climate change, teachers can explain that animal habitats are changing, making them less habitable by the animals and plants that rely on them. This unit, though it was designed for New Jersey students, does a great job of showing how climate change is impacting habitats and can be used by students outside of New Jersey.
Teachers can use this video to make connections to the Sustainable Development Goals, primarily SDG 14, Life Below Water, and SDG 15, Life on Land.
