Synopsis

This collection of brief video statements showcases the climate action of young people around the world in their own words, providing inspiration for students to take their own actions.
Students can use the interactive map to watch stories from specific areas of interest or filter the videos by the type of solution.
The videos are each under 5 minutes in length.

Positives

Hearing the stories of other young people shows students they have the power to make a difference and students can create and upload their own videos to this project.
The videos allow students to hear the different reasons why people all over the world are concerned about climate change and how their lives have been impacted.

Prerequisites

Students will need a computer and headphones to watch the videos.
If students are to upload their own videos, they will need a phone to record the video.

Differentiation & Implementation

These videos could be used for a jigsaw activity, with groups of students investigating different regions of the world and comparing and contrasting the impacts of climate change.
In the science class, these videos could be used to discuss solutions to human impacts on the environment.
In a social studies class, these videos could be used to jumpstart brainstorming when used with our Civics Lesson: Climate Action Plan.
In an ELA or art class, students could write scripts and record their own videos.
Alternatively, students could interview a member of their community who takes climate action.
