Synopsis

This presentation gives students a description of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Students will learn about each goal from Earth Cubs Characters, who also give suggestions for individual action and context for why these goals are important.

This presentation is bright and fun and defines and explains the SDGs clearly.

Prerequisites

It may benefit students to understand what humans and animals need to live.
Students should have a general idea of the causes and impacts of climate change.

Differentiation & Implementation

To take a closer look at the Sustainable Development Goals, students can do the media literacy activity UN Sustainable Development Goals and Graphics.
Students can select one of the Sustainable Development Goals to inspire a work of art. For example, a student who chooses Goal 10 can draw a representation of equality.
Teachers can draw students' attention to the action items suggested by some of the Earth Cubs characters, such as riding your bike or avoiding single-use plastic. Students can create an action plan to take steps toward these items and share their ideas with the class.
